Product Introduction

A Thailand tourist visa is an official authorization that allows foreign citizens to enter Thailand and stay for a specific purpose and period. It is not a single type of document, but rather an entry-permit system whose specific details depend on the traveler’s nationality, purpose of travel, and length of stay. For people from many countries, a “visa” is simply an exemption stamp in the passport that permits short-term visa-free entry for visits. For people from some other countries, obtaining an “e-visa” requires a formal application process. An e-visa is a digital record linked to the passport and, in some cases, is also a traditional visa sticker. The most common types of Thailand tourist visas are: Visa exemption: A program for citizens of many countries (including Germany) that allows them to enter Thailand for tourism for up to 60 days without arranging a visa in advance. Visa on Arrival (VOA): A visa issued at airports to citizens of certain countries, allowing them to stay for tourism for up to 15 days. Tourist Visa (TR): A formal visa for people who do not qualify for an exemption or visa on arrival, or who wish to extend their stay. This type of visa usually allows a stay of 60 days, with either single or multiple entries. E-visa: This is the online application system used by most Thai embassies and consulates worldwide. Applicants submit information and documents online, and the visa is issued as a digital record, which means no physical label is affixed to the passport. This is a modern “label-free” way to apply for a Thai visa.
